New World Screwworm Confirmed in Zavala County, Texas

The Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) has confirmed a case of New World Screwworm (NWS) in Zavala County, Texas, on June 3, 2026. The affected animal was a 3-week-old calf, and larvae were identified in its umbilical area.
