Kerrville, Texas — Sunday, August 30th — The Exotic Wildlife Association (EWA) and TruHerd, LLC today announced a partnership that gives every EWA member free access to TruHerd’s ranch management platform, puts TruHerd to work completing the Association’s member-facing registry app, and funds EWA registration for previously unregistered animals sold through TruHerd’s marketplace.
Under the agreement, EWA has designated TruHerd its Exclusive Technology Partner for herd management, ranch management and marketplace technology serving EWA members. EWA’s existing relationships continue unchanged, including its work with the University of California, Davis Veterinary Genetics Laboratory for genetic testing and with DV Auctions for live auction broadcast.
For decades, EWA has been committed to supporting the exotic wildlife industry and helping its members protect, manage, and strengthen the industry for generations to come. As technology becomes an increasingly important part of that work, EWA is continuing that commitment by expanding access to tools that can make a meaningful difference for its members.
Providing every EWA member with access to a ranch management platform at no cost is an investment in the people who make up this industry, while continued investment in the registry helps strengthen a resource that EWA members and the broader exotic wildlife industry rely on.
FREE PLATFORM ACCESS FOR EVERY MEMBER
Exotic wildlife ranchers have long tracked animal inventory, medical history, lineage and genetics across spreadsheets and paper files. TruHerd consolidates that recordkeeping into one platform built for how these operations run, covering group and individual herd records, lineage and genetic tracking, health and treatment history, property and location management, and animal movement between ranches.
Every EWA member in good standing receives free access to TruHerd’s Base Plan for the duration of the partnership, along with preferred member pricing on advanced capabilities as the platform expands.
“We built TruHerd for ranchers like the ones in EWA,” said Andrew Hicks, COO. “There is a lot of expertise in this industry but limited technology to support it. Most ranchers are making excellent decisions with tools that were never designed for exotic wildlife. We think the EWA is the perfect partner to unleash this technology to the market with.
A REGISTRY APP AND INCENTIVE PROGRAM
TruHerd is also taking on development of EWA’s member-facing registry application, a mobile app that gives members direct access to registry and membership functions from the field.
Under the partnership, TruHerd will complete the remaining development and launch the application on iOS and Android, then operationally hand it off to EWA. The application remains owned by the EWA and will continue to work with and support the Association’s existing registry systems.
The partnership also introduces a registration incentive tied to TruHerd’s marketplace. When a qualifying animal that has not previously been registered with EWA sells through the marketplace, TruHerd funds the cost of registering that animal with the EWA Registry.

EWA members can activate their TruHerd account at https://www.truherd.com/ewa or by contacting support@truherd.com. Members retain ownership of the records they create in the platform and can export their data at any time at no cost.
