2026 EWA Annual Membership Meeting
The 2026 Exotic Wildlife Association Annual Membership Meeting was held February 12–14 at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas, bringing together members, partners, exhibitors, and industry leaders for a dynamic and impactful weekend of connection, education, and celebration. This annual gathering continues to serve as a cornerstone event for collaboration, advocacy, and advancement within the exotic wildlife community. The weekend began on Thursday with the Conservation Golf Tournament, where participants and sponsors came together in support of a meaningful cause. All proceeds from the tournament benefited the EWA Advocacy Fund, which enables EWA to continue championing legislation and initiatives that protect and strengthen the exotic wildlife industry. The strong participation and enthusiasm on the course set the tone for the days ahead. This year’s meeting featured one of the most successful educational programs in the event’s history, with a robust lineup of seminars led by highly respected industry authorities. Attendees gained valuable insight from distinguished speakers including Dr. T.R. Lansford of the Texas Animal Health Commission, representatives from U.S. Fish and Wildlife, Dr. Brittni East Turner, Lance Clawson, and an informative controlled substance and drug panel featuring Dr. Sam Wilson and Warren Bluntzer. These sessions provided timely knowledge, practical guidance, and thoughtful discussion, reinforcing EWA’s commitment to education and professional excellence. Throughout the weekend, attendees enjoyed a lively schedule of activities designed to foster camaraderie and friendly competition. Highlights included mini pig racing, Texas Hold ’Em, a cornhole tournament, casino night, and a well-attended Bingo Night. Proceeds from Bingo Night supported the EWA Conservation Foundation and its future initiatives, blending entertainment with purpose. The event also featured the successful 2026 AMM Photo Contest, which showcased impressive talent and creativity from participants; congratulations to all of this year’s winners for their outstanding entries. Additional standout moments included the Elite Registry Auction, Grand Auction, and Exotic Auction, all of which generated strong participation and excitement. Sold-out exhibit areas provided valuable networking opportunities and showcased a wide range of products, services, and innovations from across the industry. The event concluded on a high note with an unforgettable live performance by Uncle Lucious, bringing attendees together for an evening of music, fellowship, and celebration. It was a fitting finale to a weekend defined by strong engagement, meaningful support for important causes, and the continued strength and unity of the EWA community. We extend our sincere gratitude to all sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, donors, and attendees whose participation made this year’s Annual Membership Meeting such a success. We look forward to welcoming everyone again at the 2026 EWA Conservation Extravaganza in August for another opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate together.
